Pereira & the Stop-Time Rule

The U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Pereira v. Sessions held that a Notice to Appear that does not contain the time and place at which proceedings are to be held does not trigger the "stop-time rule" for cancellation of removal purposes. This is good news for those in removal proceedings seeking cancellation of removal, but who did not meet the continuous physical presence requirement at the time the Notice to Appear was served.
